HISTORY : GERMANY'S LOSS + UK'S LOSS = USA'S GAIN (JEWS+SCOTS)

When Hitler was made Chancellor of Germany in January 1933, Germany was the epicentre of intellectuals (Physicists, Mathematicians etc)
Of the 100 Nobel prizes in science awarded from the first one in 1901 until 1932, 33 went to Germans or scientists in Germany.  University of Göttingen alone had dozens of Nobel laureates working for them.
But because of Hitler's anti Jewish policy most of these scholars had to leave either because of their Jewish backgrounds or because their spouses were Jewish.  Most of these people sailed off to USA or UK. USA was a preferred destination because of it's geographically isolated position. The most famous personality who went to USA from Germany was Sir Albert Einstein whose historic letter to Roosevelt prompted America to start Manhattan Project in Los Alamos thus assembling the brightest minds of Physics into USA. After the WWII was over, most of them settled in USA in various prestigious universities. They had major impact shaping up USA as a worldwide leader in science, research and technology (let alone making USA world's 1st superpower with an Atom bomb).
